It's over for him with the Montreal Canadiens, and it's his own decision.

"Alex Burrows will not be back behind the Montreal Canadiens bench next season as he wanted to spend more time with his family. It's his choice and not the team's. However, he is expected to have another role within the organization." - Renaud Lavoie

This scoop from the TVA Sports journalist has just been confirmed by Eric Engels (Sportsnet).

"I can confirm Renaud's report. There is now a vacant position on Martin St. Louis's coaching staff."

While we are waiting for major news regarding the NHL free agent market on this July 1st, it is this unfortunate news that has just come in.
