Canadiens Address Lineup Confusion: Habs Clarify on Their Website Ahead of Tonight
In the past few hours, we reported the official lines that will be deployed tonight by Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis.
All the journalists covering the Habs' activities reported the following lines:
«Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky
Newhook - Dach - Armia
Barré-Boulet - Dvorak - Anderson
Heineman - Evans - Gallagher
Extras: Kapanen and Pezzetta
And while the lines are accurate, it seems there has been a swap that says a lot.
We know this is important to many of you, and it's true that it marks quite the change of guard. According to the official lineup published on the Montreal Canadiens' website, the third and fourth lines should indeed be swapped.
Jake Evans' line is the third line, while Christian Dvorak's line is the fourth line for the Habs.
This is quite an achievement for Evans, surpassing Dvorak in the hierarchy, and it also means that young Emil Heineman is starting the season within the top-9 forwards.
A solid find by the HabsOnReddit page, and it was worth mentioning.
«We saw all Habs journalists listing Christian Dvorak's line as the third line and Jake Evans' line as the fourth line, but on the Montreal Canadiens' website, they are swapped.
That's why we usually wait for the Canadiens to officially announce their lineup before posting.» - HabsOnReddit
Solid observation! I fully believe Jake Evans deserves this small promotion, and it seems to suggest he'll get more ice time than Christian Dvorak tonight.
It will be interesting to watch against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Also, here are the projected lines for the Toronto Maple Leafs;
More details to follow.
