Canadiens Announce Replacement for Patrik Laine and Make an Announcement
We have received updates on the Montreal Canadiens forward, Patrik Laine. As you can see, Laine is absent from tonight's game against the Colorado Avalanche, still due to illness.
Here is the Habs lineup currently facing Nathan MacKinnon's team.
David Savard also remains sidelined.
That said, there is an interesting point to note.
Martin St-Louis reveals the new replacement for Patrik Laine
Where Laine's absence is particularly noticeable right now is on the power play.
Last night against the Chicago Blackhawks, Joel Armia replaced Patrik Laine on the first wave of the power play.
However, that has just changed:
"Kirby Dach is back on PP1 in Patrik Laine's absence; last night, it was Joel Armia who occupied that position."
Priyanta Emrith Let's hope to see Laine healthy and back in uniform as soon as possible because, yes, his absence is being felt right now by the Canadiens.
Laine has 8 goals on the season, all on the power play.
Kirby Dach, 23 years old, has accumulated 13 points in 38 games this season, including 5 goals.
It has been a very challenging start to the season for Dach, but recently things seem to be improving for the Canadiens' number 77 forward.
Further details to follow.
