We mentioned it to you in the last few minutes, but it has just been confirmed by Martin St. Louis and the Montreal Canadiens.

There will be significant changes to the lineup, as several regular players will be left out.

Martin St. Louis doesn't want to take any chances and will protect his top players

This includes the first line, but also other key Habs players.

«Kirby Dach, Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkovsky will not play tonight. Other regular players are expected to be removed from the lineup, and a number of players will be called up from the AHL this afternoon.»

- Renaud Lavoie, TVA Sports

Martin St. Louis also announced that additional players would indeed be added to the lineup via a call-up from the Laval Rocket.

The official announcement (with exact names) is expected to come any minute.

No, this doesn't make MSL happy, but he feels that with the recent injuries suffered in pre-season games, and with the tough lineup that the Ottawa Senators are likely to field, he doesn't want to take any risks (and we completely understand).

If I had to make a prediction, I would say that Kent Hughes will call up Luke Tuch, Lucas Condotta, Sean Farrell, and possibly Florian Xhekaj.

Speaking of Xhekaj, let's mention that Martin St. Louis just confirmed that the big brother, Arber Xhekaj, will be in uniform tonight against the Sens.

Martin St. Louis jokingly mentioned that he would like to see him finish the game this time, but more seriously, he wants to see him play "his game" physical, but without unnecessary excesses.

Details will follow.
