Carey Price just opened the door to a new job with the Canadiens, and Kent Hughes had a request
Carey Price recently answered a few questions while visiting Montreal and touched on some interesting topics.
While at the Bois-de-Boulogne Sports Complex for a signing session, Price spoke a bit about his future within the Habs organization.
Carey Price Opens the Door to a Role with the Canadiens
Kent Hughes directly asked him about it.
This revelation is quite interesting:
«They asked me if a coaching position or a role in player development might interest me. Maybe eventually, but for now, I have young kids. I want to make sure I'm with them, that's important to me. But when the time is right, I would definitely be interested in that kind of role.»

So, it could interest him in the future, and the door is open for the long term. For now, he wants to spend as much time as possible with his family and kids, which is absolutely commendable.
Price could potentially follow in the footsteps of players like Paul Byron or Francis Bouillon, who got involved with the Montreal Canadiens organization after their playing careers.
What role do you see for Carey?
Price also had some advice for Martin St. Louis's young squad:
«It's important to believe in the process; there are a lot of young players learning to be professionals and how to conduct themselves both on the ice and in the community. You have to make sure not to be complacent but rather work hard and have a winning attitude.»
- Carey Price
He also added that he has been pleasantly surprised by Kent Hughes's latest major acquisition, Patrik Laine, who has one of the best shots he has seen throughout his career.
