In a recent interview, Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield just confirmed what the fans were hoping for.
The watchword in the Habs' locker room has just changed.
While the management, including Jeff Gorton, didn't even want to say the "P word" not so long ago, now the Canadiens players are aiming for the playoffs as early as 2025.

Arber Xhekaj mentioned it, Kent Hughes mentioned it, and now Cole Caufield and captain Nick Suzuki have mentioned it.
"[Making the playoffs] is our goal. We all want to make the playoffs and go as far as possible to win the Cup."
"Every year, you climb that mountain trying to reach the top. We've made a big step in the right direction, and I think we'll continue to do so with our group getting older and gaining maturity."
We love it. Clearly, the young players won't be satisfied with moral victories anymore; they want to compete as early as this season.
Cole Caufield also made it very clear.
For the first time in a long time, winning will clearly be a priority for Martin St-Louis's squad, and the young players want to "move to the next step," as Kent Hughes mentioned recently.
