We experienced a unique moment last night, live on RDS, during the game between Patrick Roy's Islanders and Martin St-Louis' Canadiens.

It's rare, but even the excellent commentator Pierre Houde was completely fooled by the goal scored by Cole Caufield.

"And... And... And... AND THE GOAL!!!! (laughs)

Cole Caufield's 25th of the season catches everyone off guard, including Pierre Houde!" - RDS

See the images.

A little scene to put in the bloopers of the week, and it's the kind of TV moment that always makes us laugh.

Honestly, even Cole Caufield didn't seem to know he had scored a goal! The only person who was convinced in the place, was the young Juraj Slafkovsky.

It turned out to be Caufield's 25th goal of the season, accumulating 62 points in 79 games this season.

Cole Caufield, like Patrick Kane

It does indeed remind us a bit of that mythical goal scored by Patrick Kane in 2010 against the Philadelphia Flyers to win the Stanley Cup.

All's well that ends well, as Caufield finally got his 25th goal of the 2023-24 season. He will also have the opportunity to beat his career high in the coming days.
