The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, has just learned more about Ivan Demidov's intentions.

Demidov just declared that he is willing to play in the VHL (the KHL's farm team) if necessary.
Wow! I feel like saying he is almost too accommodating and too nice because it would be completely illogical to let him "waste his time" in the VHL.
He is clearly too good for that league.

I hope that Kent Hughes won't let that happen and that if Demidov doesn't make the SKA lineup, he will bring him immediately to North America.
In any case, it's a real contrast to a certain Mikhail Gulyayev, a Colorado Avalanche prospect who refuses to report to the American Hockey League (AHL).
He sees himself solely as an NHL player unlike young Demidov, who will simply play where he's told to play.
I think this says a lot about Demidov and his attitude, and I love seeing that from the young player, but I still hope he doesn't play in the VHL next season.
