Habs acquisition: "if he's the 3rd line Center, Habs are going to the finals"
The expert Simon Boisvert just made quite a statement regarding a summer acquisition by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
Michael Hage, acquired through the draft a little over a month ago, could eventually make a significant difference for Martin St-Louis' squad.
Simon Boisvert, who has always been very harsh and critical of the Montreal Canadiens, surprises us this time by being very optimistic about the organization's future.
During an appearance on Tony Marinaro's podcast, he mentioned that he is not at all worried that Kent Hughes has not yet acquired a new top 6 forward this summer, as was his objective.
The prices were obviously too high to acquire a Martin Necas or a Trevor Zegras.
Boisvert believes that the acquisitions of Ivan Demidov and also Michael Hage could be sufficient to provide the offensive firepower the Canadiens need in the coming years.
The one nicknamed "The Snake" even goes as far as to say that the Canadiens' depth in attack (with the likes of Ivan Demidov, Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, Juraj Slafkovsky, Kirby Dach, Alex Newhook, and company) could eventually force Martin St-Louis to deploy Michael Hage on the third line.
Draft acquisition of Michael Hage: if he's on the Canadiens' third line, Montreal is heading to the finals according to Simon Boisvert
Having Hage on a third line would indeed be a huge luxury, according to Boisvert.
«The Snake even goes further: with the talent that will be there, maybe a guy like Michael Hage will have no choice but to play on the third line And if that happens, Simon Boisvert believes the Canadiens will reach the finals because of the team's depth.»
- Marc-Olivier Cook
«If Michael Hage eventually becomes the center of the third line, the Canadiens are heading to the finals.
Because Michael Hage is quite a hockey player.»
- Simon Boisvert
It's rare to see him be so positive about the Canadiens.
One thing is certain, it will be really interesting to follow in the coming years, but listening to the different experts, it really seems like the Canadiens made a great move by acquiring Michael Hage.
