For the first time in a while, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes has broken the silence.

He did it to talk about one of the names of the moment at the Ice Hockey World Championship, Oliver Kapanen.

He has just scored his 6th goal of the tournament!

Kapanen is simply dominant right now, and he is the best player of the tournament along with Connor Bedard at the moment.

Hughes shared, unsurprisingly, that he is very pleased with Kapanen's impressive progress.

Moreover, Kent Hughes announced that he is on the case to confirm the acquisition and signing of the young Kapanen. He must not be lost!

Hughes even met with his agent:

«The young Oliver Kapanen, who is having a fantastic tournament, would like to come to terms with the Canadiens, but he is focused on the world championship

So that's where things stand at the moment!

Kapanen, 20 years old, is a 64th overall pick of the CH in 2021 (a 2nd round pick) and he has amassed 34 points in 51 matches this season in Finland's top league.

In the playoffs, we're talking about 13 points, including 7 goals, in 14 games.

Details to follow.

Great job by the RDS journalist!
