Juraj Slafkovsky signs an 8-year contract with the Canadiens
The Canadiens have just signed Juraj Slafkovsky long-term.
This is a major contract for the club's future, as General Manager Kent Hughes has pulled off another little magic trick.
Against all odds, he managed to sign Slafkovsky for less money than captain Nick Suzuki! Wow!
8-year contract for Juraj Slafkovsky with the Montreal Canadiens
That's not all! Not only are we talking about an eight-season contract, so very long-term, but also an extremely reasonable financial deal.
"The General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club, Kent Hughes, announced Monday that the team has agreed to the terms of an eight-season contract extension (2025-2026 to 2032-2033) worth $60.8 million with forward Juraj Slafkovsky. The deal will bring him an average annual salary of $7.6 million."
- Montreal Canadiens
This could really turn out to be a steal!
"The Canadiens' core on offense under eight million.
Nick Suzuki: 7.875 million until 2029-2030
Cole Caufield: 7.85 million until 2030-2031
Juraj Slafkovsky: 7.6 million until 2032-2033"
- J-F Chaumont Considering that the NHL salary cap will increase significantly over the next few years, this is incredible and quite a bargain.
Details to follow.
