We knew that former Montreal Canadien Georges Laraque had a scoop to reveal today about the Habs on BPM Sports.

He has finally revealed this scoop.

The Canadiens Plan to Make Changes Behind the Bench, Gerard Gallant Has Met with Kent Hughes

First, we have the excellent Marco D'Amico, who just mentioned that the Canadiens are indeed working to make changes to their coaching staff.

These are additions and do not involve Martin St-Louis leaving.

«I'm told the Montreal Canadiens are considering strengthening their coaching staff.» - Marco D'Amico

So we can expect changes behind the bench, and it looks like Martin St-Louis will be getting some reinforcement.

I love it.

Several experts and observers have suggested it might be time to think about replacing Martin St-Louis, as he currently seems somewhat overwhelmed. However, all indications point to Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton having a different idea.

Instead of replacing St-Louis, why not simply offer him some help?

Gerard Gallant could certainly help MSL steady the ship, as he recently met with Kent Hughes.

In fact, the three were spotted together over the past weekend.

Laraque's news: Kent Hughes, Martin St-Louis, and Gerard Gallant were spotted together at a cafe in Toronto.

P.S.: He doesn't know if Gallant has been or will be hired. MOB

Georges Laraque's scoop indeed concerns reinforcements coming behind the bench for the Montreal Canadiens to support Martin St-Louis. The likely candidate appears to be Gerard Gallant rather than Bob Hartley.

Further details to follow.
