In the last few minutes, the Trois-Rivières Lions have added a very interesting defender to the organizational chart of the Montreal Canadiens.

It's rare to see this, but here is a defender who could truly climb the ranks of the organization and possibly be present at the next Habs training camp.

A name to remember! Here is the message published by the Lions, they seem very excited about their acquisition:

"The Trois-Rivières Lions have announced the signing of star defensemen Jacob Paquette.

A Universiade Games champion, Jacob will undoubtedly bring stability to the defensive brigade.

Welcome to the team Jacob!" - Trois-Rivières Lions

Paquette, a Nashville Preds draft pick in 2017, is a 24-year-old left-handed defender.

Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and 220 pounds, he has accumulated 14 points in 26 games this season, in addition to 54 penalty minutes, with Queens University.

He was solid in the OHL with the Peterborough Petes, the Niagara IceDogs, and the Kingston Frontenacs.
