In a press conference earlier today, Martin St-Louis confirmed the return of Justin Barron to the lineup, and he confirmed that Samuel Montembeault will be getting the start against the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night.
This also means that Cayden Primeau and Michael Pezzetta will have to wait again.
It's been discussed for a few days now, but clearly, it's becoming more and more confirmed.
Primeau and Pezzetta are no longer part of the Canadiens' plans.
From Martin St-Louis' comments, it's clear that Pezzetta is not even an option for him.
Even in case of injuries, players like Lucas Condotta and Joshua Roy are called up, leaving Pezzetta in the stands.
As for goaltender Primeau, it's pretty much the same story.
It seems the Canadiens don't want to play him, unless absolutely necessary. (or almost)
Since his infamous disastrous start against the Buffalo Sabres a month ago, on November 11, Primeau has played only three games..
Three games in one month, and if we go back to October 31, we're talking about four games in total for Cayden Primeau!
It really feels like changes will be made sooner rather than later in goal for the Montreal Canadiens.
If only Jakub Dobes hadn't gotten injured on Friday night..
That being said, Samuel Montembeault is doing a great job, but he can't play all 55 remaining games this season either.
If it were your decision, what would you do?
