Logan Mailloux's former coach reveals what he truly thinks of the young player
If there is one person who knows what Logan Mailloux can bring to a team, it is undoubtedly Jean-François Houle.
The former Laval Rocket head coach had a front-row seat to watch the defenseman develop throughout last season. Despite a slow start, Mailloux ended up finishing first among AHL rookies in scoring and became a fan favorite in Laval.
The former Laval Rocket head coach, Jean-François Houle, shares his true thoughts on Logan Mailloux
Now leading the team at Clarkson University, Houle recently appeared on the Sick Podcast - The Eye Test with Pierre McGuire and Jimmy Murphy. He had nothing but praise for his former defenseman.
In fact, the topic came up when Houle was asked the following question: "Is there a prospect in Laval who is going to impress everyone?" The coach's answer was clear:
"I would say Mailloux. Last year, I would say he was excellent for us. He made the [All-Rookie] team, and he's an excellent defenseman. I think he can play both defensively and offensively. He has a lot to offer.

It will be interesting to see where the young defenseman starts the upcoming season. Most predictions currently place him out of the lineup, favoring Justin Barron, who has his spot to lose. It will be up to Mailloux to prove in the coming days that he deserves a spot in the big league!
