Martin St-Louis surprises everyone and had a lot to say about Arber Xhekaj during press conference
In a press conference earlier today, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis was once again questioned by a journalist about young Arber Xhekaj, this time regarding his progress.
On other occasions, St-Louis has given short answers about Xhekaj, but this time, he had a lot to say, and it's mostly positive.
We love it.
St-Louis, on how he assesses the progress of number 72 and whether he is a better defensemen today than he was last year.
"I've said it, progress is never linear, but I find he's moving in the right direction.. He's playing to his identity, he's working on the things we talk about, and he's finding consistency recently.
It's day by day, and it's about continuing in the direction he's heading, but I'm happy with where he is today." - Martin St-Louis
And on the subject of possibly sending Xhekaj to shootouts, following his strong performance in Sunday's skills competition:
"Ah, I don't know..." - Martin St-Louis

Let's not forget that Xhekaj was promoted to a top-4 role this morning:
