TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie recently revisited the demotion of Joshua Roy to the Laval Rocket.

Roy, whom nearly everyone expected to start the season with the Montreal Canadiens, especially after Patrik Laine's unfortunate injury, received a warning from the management, according to Renaud Lavoie.

The insider even described it as a "slap on the wrist."

A message from the Montreal Canadiens' management to Joshua Roy

Here is an excerpt from his exact statement.

«Several players took his spot [Alex Barré-Boulet, Oliver Kapanen, and Emil Heineman]. They didn't say to him: You're going to play on the fourth line or be our 13th forward. They told him: Go back to Laval and prove yourself. It's quite a slap on the wrist.»

- Renaud Lavoie, who still expects Joshua Roy to return to Montreal shortly.

By the way, speaking of Alex Barré-Boulet, it's worth noting that he will join Joshua Roy with the Laval Rocket after being passed over on NHL waivers in the past few hours.

Pascal Vincent's offensive lineup suddenly becomes very interesting.

As for Joshua Roy, he will indeed need to prove himself if he wants to surpass players like Oliver Kapanen, Emil Heineman, and even Alex Barré-Boulet, in the Canadiens' depth chart.

It's worth noting that talent is absolutely not an issue for Joshua.

Roy, 21 years old, has 0 points in two games this season with the Laval Rocket.
