«The Canadiens requested that the Department of Player Safety review the hit delivered by Jacob Trouba last night, but I've been told that no sanction is planned. The Department of Player Safety deemed it a clean hit.» - Peter Baugh He reveals here that the Montreal Canadiens directly requested the Department of Player Safety to review Trouba's hit on Barron, and this request was denied.
The league is convinced that it was a perfectly legal hit.

Do you agree with this decision by the National Hockey League?
Jacob Trouba, 30 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 212-pound defenseman who is certainly no stranger to questionable hits of this kind.
In 754 career games in the National Hockey League, the 9th overall pick of the Winnipeg Jets in 2012 has accumulated 313 points and 613 penalty minutes.
It will be interesting to see if a certain Arber Xhekaj will be in uniform for the next matchup against the Rangers.
