Nick Suzuki is having a Better Career Start Than William Nylander according to numbers
Nick Suzuki is having the best season of his career so far. Not only can he produce offensively, his defensive talents have been praised by none other than Ryan O'Reilly, a few weeks ago.
"He's one of the players in the league I love to watch. Just an incredible player. The offensive side everybody sees but it's the little detailsthe way he reads the game. He's got extremely high IQ, great defensive player as well." - Ryan O'Reilly on Nick Suzuki
Another report is placing the Canadiens' captain under a good light.
In 66 games so far, Suzuki scored 62 points, including 26 goals. William Nylander, one of the Maple Leafs' stars, is also having a great year, with 86 points in 65 goals.
But when we're looking at their numbers from the beginning of their careers, Suzuki is better.
"Leaving this comparison here :
William Nylander's stats after his 24 year old season:
358 GP / 263 Pts
Nick Suzuki's stats while still in his 24 year old season:
356 GP / 270 Pts
Hoping Suzuki continues to trend upward the way Nylander did"
In two games less, Suzuki has seven more points than Nylander. With 16 games remaining to the Habs' season, he could get this number even higher.
However, there is a big difference between both players. Nylander recently signed an eight-year contract worth $11,500,000 a year, whereas Suzuki will earn $7,875,000 per season until 2030.
We can't deny that this contract was a great move by Marc Bergevin. On the other hand, Brad Treliving, the Leafs' general manager, will be stuck until 2032 with a player worth more than $11 million a year.
As seen on Habsolument Fans - Suzuki connait un meilleur début de carrière que Nylander
