Nick Suzuki's Strange Post-Game Statement Sparks Debate After Canadiens' Humiliating Loss to Penguins
Thursday night, the Montreal Canadiens delivered an embarrassing performance against Sidney Crosby's Pittsburgh Penguins, live from the Bell Centre.
We were eager to see what the reactions would be after the game, particularly from the head coach (Martin St-Louis) and the captain (Nick Suzuki), but honestly, the result was very disappointing.
There was, notably, a rather strange moment during Nick Suzuki's press conference, which is attracting a lot of attention today.
After his team possibly suffered its most embarrassing loss of the season, and after Jake Evans had said the following:
Jake Evans on the 3rd period: "We completely stopped playing, so it's embarrassing and frustrating."
Jake Evans did not explain why they started the third period so poorly: "Maybe it's the fourth goal they scored and we just gave up or something like that - I don't know - but we'll have to fix that."

Nick Suzuki, on the other hand, said the exact opposite.
Nick Suzuki put his foot in his mouth with a bizarre statement in the press conference after the game
As noted by BPM Sports host Max Lalonde, Suzuki stated that the team did not give up last night.. Excuse me?
Nick Suzuki: «We didn't give up in the 3rd period.»
You're the captain of the Montreal Canadiens. You're supposed to be pissed off. - Max Lalonde
The journalists' reactions said it all, and let's just say it created a rather awkward moment in the locker room, especially since Jake Evans had just said the exact opposite.
Suzuki simply (probably) did not want to panic and aimed to stay in control, which is a very admirable quality for an athlete. However, let's just say that many observers would have appreciated a better response from the captain of the Montreal Canadiens.
