The journalists present at the press conference, live from Brossard, asked questions about Patrik Laine to the new coach Pascal Vincent.

Pascal Vincent, who knows Patrik Laine very well and was hired as head coach of the Laval Rocket two months ago, just finished his first press conference:

He was quickly and oddly questioned about rumors of tension between Laine and himself. Quite the welcome.

TVA Sports publishes an article about Pascal Vincent's responses regarding Patrik Laine

I thought all of this was in the past, but the topic was brought up again today.

«Contrary to rumors, there is no lasting tension between Patrik Laine and Laval Rocket head coach Pascal Vincent, who had benched the Finn with the Columbus Blue Jackets.»

- TVA Sports

During his press conference in front of Montreal journalists earlier today, Pascal Vincent was clear on the matter.

«My relationship with Patrik Laine has always been good. I tease him all the time.»

«Probably the most talented player I've coached. An incredible acquisition for the Canadiens.»

- Pascal Vincent

However, a journalist still asked Vincent to comment on his decision to bench Patrik Laine when he was the head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Here's his response:

«It was an organizational decision,» he explained. «There are things that happened that will remain private. I've learned that communication is super important.»

- Pascal Vincent

I think the message is clear and we can move on.
