In an Instagram post, Laine's fiancée shared a picture of him, and believe it or not, he's without crutches!
This is obviously great news, and it's a major step forward for the Finnish forward as he prepares for his highly anticipated return to play.
This is undoubtedly the news of the day. You can see the picture right here, as reported by the excellent Maxime Truman.
It's really encouraging for what's to come!
We know Laine wants to return to the game as soon as possible, but he needs to be cautious to avoid the risk of reinjury. However, he seems to be on track to return sooner than expected, possibly even aiming for the 2-month mark of his 2-3 month recovery timeline.
He's really excited to play for the Habs, and seeing this progress must be a huge motivation for him.
Let's remember that on October 1st, nearly a month ago, the Montreal Canadiens announced via an official statement that Patrik Laine had suffered a sprain in his left knee, which did not require surgery.
At 26 years old, Patrik Laine tallied 9 points in 18 games last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and he has 388 points (204 goals) in 480 career games in the National Hockey League.
Upon his return, he'll be a huge addition to Martin St-Louis' squad!
We can now start hoping to see him back in uniform in a little over a month.
More details to follow.
