Earlier today, it was revealed that even with Patrik Laine's injury, Joshua Roy was not able to secure his spot with the Habs.
He has been cut and will play with the Laval Rocket, at least to start the 2024-2025 calendar.
Many are calling it a lost opportunity for Roy, who definitely has the talent to play in the NHL and probably should have made the team. However, according to some experts, he played "like a player who thought his spot was guaranteed."
As reported by Maxime Truman (DansLesCoulisses), the excellent host Max Lalonde (BPM Sports) made a notable statement regarding the young Montreal Canadiens forward.
According to him, or at least his sources, one of Joshua Roy's biggest issues is related to the decisions he makes off the ice.
And he is not the first to publicly mention something like this.
I will stop there because I don't want to overdo it, and since this isn't my information, I am merely reporting what was mentioned this morning on BPM Sports. I'll also add that it's not the first time I've heard this.
Stay tuned, but at this point, I just hope Joshua Roy works extremely hard with the Laval Rocket, silences his critics, and returns to Montreal stronger.
Talent is absolutely, absolutely not an issue in his case.
He just needs to take comments like this and use them as motivation to become an impact player for the Montreal Canadiens in the long term.
A story to follow in Laval.
