Clearly, the Montreal Canadiens' head coach, Martin St-Louis, wants to do things his own way.

If you ask me, that's perfectly fine.

Despite a tough loss last night against the Detroit Red Wings, and despite the fact that 90 or 95% of head coaches would have held a practice today (the day after a defeat), St-Louis still decided to give everyone the day off this Friday.

Interesting.

The Canadiens returned to Montreal around 1:00 a.m. last night.

Martin St-Louis gave his guys the day off today.

The Habs' next game will take place tomorrow night at the Bell Centre against the Devils.

Nick Suzuki probably had a hand in this as well, like we mentioned last week.

These days, the team really doesn't practice often and focuses on rest.

It has worked over the past few weeks, so let's wait before criticizing.

A decision by Martin St-Louis that's stirring up discussion in the media today

As TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie also mentioned this morning, it's clear that the Canadiens need to find a way to have more energy.

«A game tomorrow for a team that no longer practices.. They're too tired!»

That indeed seemed to be an issue last night. Speaking of Martin St-Louis' decisions and the next game, it will be interesting to see which goalie he sends into the fray.

Will Martin go back to Samuel Montembeault, or will young Jakub Dobes get another opportunity?

If it were your decision, what would you do?

It will be a matchup against Jake Allen and the New Jersey Devils tomorrow night at the Bell Centre, and I imagine there will be a morning skate this time.
