The Canadiens announce changes involving 5 players ahead of tonight
The Montreal Canadiens organization has announced changes involving five players in Martin St-Louis's lineup today.
First, we have a big surprise confirmed, as forward Christian Dvorak (whose season was supposed to be over) will finally be joining as reinforcement.
He managed to defy the experts' predictions!
"Forward Christian Dvorak will be making a return to the game tonight against Philadelphia."
- Montreal Canadiens
There are also changes involving two other forwards, who are for their part being removed from the lineup.
"Colin White-Jesse Ylonen OUT vs Philadelphia Flyers."
- Via Renaud Lavoie This seems to please some:
"I understand that Dvorak is not the biggest jersey seller, but this is excellent news for:
1. Himself, who managed to beat the odds when his season seemed to be over in January.
2. The team, which can (finally) set Colin White aside." - Simon-Olivier Lorange, La Presse
The one who had been claimed off waivers, Kent Hughes's former client Colin White will therefore be skipping his turn and don't be surprised if he's not back next season.
And finally, please also note that, despite recent performances from the goalies, the rotation continues, and Samuel Montembeault will take the place of Cayden Primeau in goal.
White, 27 years old, a 1st round pick in 2015, has 0 goals and 0 assists in 17 games with the Canadiens this season.
Dvorak, 28 years old, a 2nd round pick in 2014, has 3 goals and 4 assists in 25 games with the Canadiens this season.
Ylonen, 24 years old, a 2nd round pick in 2018, has 4 goals and 4 assists in 57 games with the Canadiens this season.
The end is approaching, and Kent Hughes will have some big decisions to make with them this summer. It will be interesting to follow.
