According to journalist Frank Seravalli, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens are going to part ways with forward Christian Dvorak.

He mentions that it is now a question of "when" and not "if" the Canadiens will let go of Dvorak, who has just been placed on the list of twenty players officially on the trading block in the National Hockey League.

It didn't work out for Christian Dvorak with the Montreal Canadiens, despite his good friendship with Cole Caufield

See what Frank Seravalli mentioned exactly.

« Scoop: Dvorak has struggled to stay healthy in his time in Montréal, missing 96 games over his three-season tenure. He was acquired by the Marc Bergevin regime in Sept. 2021 from Arizona in exchange for first and second-round picks, one of which is in this June's Draft (No. 37 overall). It's clear that Dvorak hasn't worked out with the Habs. Even when healthy, he hasn't been able to break through the ceiling that initially indicated promise in Arizona. Montreal will be moving on from him, the only questions are when (now or later) and how (trade or free agency).» - Frank Seravalli

So it is quite clear, even if it is not at all surprising.

Expect Dvorak to be frequently mentioned in trade discussions, and if he is not traded, expect him to definitely leave at the end of his contract next summer.

Dvorak, 28, has amassed a meager total of 9 points in 30 games this season, after scoring 28 points in 64 games in 2022-2023 (a -17 differential over these two seasons).

All indications are that he will no longer be with the Canadiens when we discuss this again in a few months.
