Due to the challenging schedule of the Montreal Canadiens, Martin St-Louis and the team's management decided to change today's plans.
It's an understandable decision.
The team ultimately chose to cancel today's practice, which was scheduled for 11:00 AM this morning, to maximize rest.
As a result, the Canadiens haven't hit the ice since Saturday night's game against the Colorado Avalanche, but once again, I believe this is the right call.
The Canadiens Announce the Cancellation of Today's Practice
Here are the confirmations.
The Canadiens will finally return to the Bell Centre tonight to host the Vancouver Canucks, but it will essentially feel like a road game.
The Canadiens truly view tomorrow's game at the Bell Centre «as a road game». The team is about to land in St-Hubert and will not hold a morning skate tomorrow. They want to maximize rest. It's completely understandable.
Anthony Marcotte
Let's not forget that Martin St-Louis' squad is currently two points away from a playoff spot, and with a win tonight, the Canadiens could officially enter the playoff picture.
The Pittsburgh Penguins currently hold the last playoff spot with 41 points in 41 games.
The Montreal Canadiens currently sit at 39 points in 39 games, making tonight's game particularly significant.
By tomorrow, at the midpoint of the season, we could realistically see the Canadiens in a playoff position.
Who could have predicted that?
