It's clear that he's been surpassed in the hierarchy by other young players like Emil Heineman and Oliver Kapanen.
This waiver placement is obviously unfortunate for ABB, who had a strong camp and has plenty of talent, but it's also a major red flag for another Quebec player we love.
Considering that the Habs have already made significant decisions with Heineman, Kapanen, Barré-Boulet, and even Joshua Roy.. What does this mean for Harvey-Pinard?
Will he be able to regain his spot as a regular with the Montreal Canadiens, ahead of the names mentioned above?
Tony Marinaro has doubts.
While on the La Poche Bleue podcast, he specifically addressed the case of RHP.
The Quebec native, who is still injured at the time of writing, collected 10 points in 45 games last season, and 20 points in 34 games the season before (2022-23).
Marinaro pointed out that RHP is indeed an outstanding person off the ice, but unfortunately, he doesn't see a future with the Montreal Canadiens.
Youngsters like Oliver Kapanen, Emil Heineman, Owen Beck, Joshua Roy, and Ivan Demidov are likely to all surpass him, sooner or later, and in some cases, they already have.
Here's the clip in question.
