The Overtime Goal Scored By Nick Suzuki Last Night in Columbus Wasn't Valid, Says Dean Evason
To our surprise, it was mentioned that the goal scored by Nick Suzuki in overtime was not valid, last night live from Columbus, according to Dean Evason.
As reported by TVA Sports, after the game, Evason had plenty to say to journalists during his post-game press conference.
Evason even went as far as to say that the Canadiens can consider themselves very lucky to have won.
Mr. Evason was not in a good mood after the game.
Just before scoring the winning goal in overtime, captain Nick Suzuki tripped Kent Johnson, who was attempting a move in the offensive zone, and no penalty was called by the officials.
We know the rest.
«At the end, they didn't call a penalty when the guy [Suzuki] grabbed the hip [of Johnson] to make him fall, and then he went on to score.
It's ridiculous, you know.
It's still a game of human errors, and I wish there were some referees here, at least one of them to explain what they saw.»
- Dean Evason
He continued.
«We had a two-on-one. KJ was fresh and ready on the ice. He was a step ahead of Suzuki.
He was heading in with speed, and then his marker caught up to him by grabbing and pulling him by the hip to trip him.
The other team took possession of the puck and got a three-on-two.. it's incomprehensible,» he continued.
«This can't end without a penalty.
It's insane.
I don't care if it's the first period or overtime.
You can't hold a guy with your hand.»

In your opinion, should a penalty have been called on the play?
Let's remember that Martin St. Louis' men ultimately won by a score of 4-3.
