WOW: St-Louis makes a significant gesture towards Arber Xhekaj after his fight on the players' bench
Upon his return to the game tonight against the Anaheim Ducks at the Bell Centre, the young Montreal Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj wasted no time before making his mark with his fists.
And well, in the category of behind-the-scenes sequences that are interesting, here's a good one.
Martin St-Louis makes a kind gesture towards Arber Xhekaj that says a lot
While some rumors are circulating that Xhekaj might not necessarily be in the good graces of his boss, St-Louis made a nice gesture of support towards the Sheriff tonight.
It's very rare to see this in the NHL.
"Arber Xhekaj, warmly welcomed by his teammates (and his coaches!) upon exiting the penalty bench after his fight.
A sequence that says a lot about the respect the CH locker room has for him."
- Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports
St-Louis, like some Habs players, welcomed Xhekaj to their bench upon his return from the penalty bench. (after his fight)
According to those present on-site, Martin even had a few words of encouragement and support for Xhekaj.
Good job, Jacko! Thanks!
It may seem trivial, but it's the kind of gesture that can be huge for a young defenseman who has had a tougher season. It's huge for his confidence.
