Just seconds after the game against the Montreal Canadiens, the New Jersey Devils made a personnel change in goal.

A goalie swap for the Devils: rumors are swirling

See the official statement.

«We have assigned goalie Isaac Poulter to Utica (AHL). We have recalled Akira Schmid from Utica.» - New Jersey Devils

It should be noted that the Devils are actively working on the trade market to acquire a goalie, and Schmid could leave New Jersey in such a transaction.

The names of Jacob Markstrom and Jake Allen have often been linked to the Devils in rumors.

Schmid, 23, is a goalie standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 205 pounds. In 39 NHL games, he has a record of 14-16-3, a goals-against average of 2.92, and a save percentage of .898. He is the one who led the Devils during the 2023 NHL playoffs.

Poulter, 22, is a WHL alum. In 24 games this season in Utica, he has a record of 14-7-1, a goals-against average of 2.7, and a save percentage of .908.

Stay tuned!
