As reported by DLC, according to him, the Montreal Canadiens could be interested in elite goalie Juuse Saros. Wow.
According to information recently revealed by the renowned Elliotte Friedman, from Sportsnet, there's a 50% chance that Saros could be traded by March 8th. That's a high!
Knowing all this, let's return to Louis Jean.
He was a guest on the Sortie de Zone podcast along with Richard Labbé, Alexandre Pratt, and Jérémie Rainville.
Saros is signed for another season after this one and he earns five million dollars, which is very reasonable for a star goalie.
So, if Kent Hughes acquires him, it would presumably come with a certain confidence of signing him long-term afterward.
It would be somewhat ironic to see the CH acquire Saros (NASHVILLE) a few months after refusing a trade involving the young Yaroslav Askarov (NASHVILLE), but that's Kent Hughes' choice.
I don't necessarily believe it, unless they sign him next summer, but if Louis Jean thinks it's possible, it's worth considering.
Jean sees a potential interest from Habs in Saros, but he also doesn't believe it would be that realistic. In short, to keep in mind:
A Saros-Montembeault duo could be very solid, but an Askarov-Montembeault duo could be too.
Where Saros becomes more logical than Askarov is if KH REALLY believes in Jacob Fowler. He would then have Saros-Montembeault for 4-5 years, and then Fowler would take over.
