It is always interesting to see what happens behind the scenes of a hockey game, especially when it involves the Montreal Canadiens.

Last night, the SAP Center facilities, home of the San Jose Sharks, caused quite a stir.

It started with the press gallery being very impractical and not enjoyable to watch a hockey game from (with obstructed view):

It continued with the stands being completely empty:

And finally, there was a photo of Samuel Montembeault that generated a lot of reactions. Here it is:

Clearly, Sam must have found the game very long.

It doesn't look very professional to see a professional goalie placed like that, but fortunately, the Habs don't play in San Jose too often.

As some cleverly noted as a joke, at least he had popcorn included.

See some of the reactions:

We are aware that he had the opportunity to get closer to the ice at times, but it's still ridiculous that he was placed where the ice crew works. (they go on the ice at least 9 times during the game)

He constantly has to "move over" and is constantly disrupted during the game. These are terrible circumstances for a backup goalie.

One good point, here:

"It's ridiculous that with the wave of new amphitheaters built in the 1990's and 2000's, which are quite recent/modern, we haven't found a way to make room for opposing goalies on the team's bench.

Other reactions:

"Yep ..... it is not very prestigious, indeed."

"Ouff this is really disrespectful and very embarrassing..."
