Last night, during the match between the Canadiens and the Lightning at the Bell Centre, Nikita Kucherov delivered a vicious hit from behind on Kaiden Guhle.

A hit that ended Guhle's game, a concerning issue.

In the sequence, Kucherov wasn't even penalized, which has been severely criticized by many.

"For me, it's clear: there should have been a penalty on Kucherov for the hit on Guhle.

He saw Guhle's number 21 from the first to the last second.

I would add that I didn't necessarily appreciate the fact that no CH player reproached him." - Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports

«I mean, it's not like Guhle turned at the last second there. He was facing the glass the whole way. In fact, it's when he was turning to get back to sideways that Kucherov turned him back towards the glass and finished his hit. That's boarding...." - Eric Engels, Sportsnet

Kucherov blatantly hit Guhle headfirst into the glass.

From what I recall, Andrew Mangiapane was suspended for 1 game earlier this season for a similar hit.

In short, it's an announcement many are awaiting, and we will be closely monitoring the official account of the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

We will have an answer in the next few hours.

I don't know if it deserves a suspension or not, but it absolutely deserves (at a minimum) a fine from George Parros.

Stay tuned!

And in your opinion, does Nikita Kucherov deserve a penalty for his hit on Kaiden Guhle? Will the NHL dare to penalize him?
