2 players have just been placed on waivers, including a former member of the Canadiens organization
We have the first names on the NHL waivers. As reported by the reputable Elliotte Friedman in the last few minutes, two players have been placed on waivers, both from the Vancouver Canucks.
These are the first names, but they clearly won't be the last to be available on waivers. It's just the beginning.
Guillaume Brisebois and Jett Woo on the NHL Waiver Wire
It will be interesting to see if some teams take a chance on them, as training camps are still in their early stages.
Guillaume Brisebois, 27, is a left-shot defenseman from Longueuil. Standing 6'2» and weighing 175 pounds, he was a 3rd round pick (66th overall) by the Canucks in the 2015 Draft.
He has 27 games of NHL experience and indeed played within the Montreal Canadiens organization in 2020-21.
Jett Woo, 24, is a right-shot defenseman, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 205 pounds. He was the 37th overall pick by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2018 NHL Draft (2nd round) and registered 31 points in 62 games in the AHL last season.
