Surprise Relocation: the Capitals are leaving Washington, and we have the details
Major development for the Washington Capitals!
This is the kind of news we don't often get in the National Hockey League.
See what journalist Scott Abraham just reported, it's big.
"It's happening!
The Capitals and Wizards are leaving Washington DC to move to Northern Virginia. That's the plan.
Sources tell 7NewsDC that Ted Leonsis will attend an event tomorrow at Potomac Yard alongside Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin.
It will start at 9 a.m."
This means that after more than 26 years in Washington, the Capitals will move.
Will they remain the Washington Capitals, or will they become the Virginia Capitals? To be continued.
According to the journalist, the organization should make an official announcement tomorrow.
A new arena should therefore be built in the city of Alexandria, in Northern Virginia.
The vote took place last night.
