The rumor started circulating a few hours ago, but according to what TVA Sports has published, it's now confirmed!
The Montreal Canadiens are scheduled to meet with young phenomenon Matvei Michkov, and the Habs will finally have the opportunity to meet him in person before the 2023 National Hockey League draft.
This will, of course, be a major and decisive meeting for the choice that Kent Hughes and his colleagues will have to make with the fifth overall pick.
Michkov, who is considered a generational talent, is expected to still be available for the Habs for well-known reasons.
Michkov, 18 years old, has amassed 20 points in 27 games this season in the KHL, a historic tally for a player his age.
Let's remember what was reported yesterday by who is probably the best sports journalist of our generation (and the most connected):
"New information has surfaced. Michkov has officially scheduled a few official interviews with NHL teams. These interviews will take place before the 2023 draft." - Bob McKenzie
According to TVA Sports, the Montreal Canadiens are among the chosen ones who will be able to meet him.
More details to follow.
