This latest signing has placed the CH back in the rumor mill, as the roster now boasts five capable NHL-level centremen with Nick Suzuki, Kirby Dach, Christian Dvorak, Sean Monahan and Jake Evans.
Many people think that the signing of this Tuesday morning could indicate a potential departure of one of them, namely Dvorak.
Kent Hughes appears to be decidedly unwilling, as Arpon Basu recently mentioned, to carry salary beyond the upcoming season. The meager performance bonus of $15,000, which will be added to the payroll for the 2024-2025 season, clearly evidences this.
As reported by the excellent Marco d'Amico, this signature does not mean that there will be no other personnel movements within the Montreal Canadiens organization this offseason. On the other side, it is a sign of an active summer ahead and shows that the Canadiens will use to full capacity once again, the LTIR which Carey Price will leave behind.
This signature has renewed the rumors regarding Pierre-Luc Dubois, which were not so dormant as they seemed to be.
Many believe that Dvorak, who will be leaving the CH shortly as mentioned earlier, will be involved in the transaction with the Jets for the Quebecois forward. Fans are even already predicting that Dach will be placed on the wing with Dubois in the lineup...
This summer is going to be full of entertainment and excitement. It promises to be an intriguing season, with plenty of opportunities for growth and exploration.
