Generally, late first-round selections are often a roll of the dice for an organization as just about all the prospects available at that point are equivalent. However, as reported by Charles-Alexis Brisebois from the site Danslescoulisses.com, a certain young player, who few people talk about, could very well surprise a few.
This is forward Bradly Nadeau, a francophone from the Maritimes, who will surely be one to watch over the next few weeks.
According to Nicolas Cloutier from TVA Sports, the young prospect recently filled out a questionnaire submitted by the Canadiens and he had a phone interview with the organization, which means he is in the sights of the Montreal club. We love it!
This season, Nadeau, who is from Saint-François-de-Madawaska in New Brunswick, played for the Penticton Vees, a team in the BCHL in Western Canada, and he literally dominated the league with 113 points, including 45 goals, in just 54 games.
Even though it's not a major junior circuit in Canada, his offensive talent is undeniable and according to his coach, Fred Harbinson, he wouldn't be surprised if a team drafts him at the end of the first round.
Ranked the 17th best prospect in North America, the small left-winger, 5 feet 10 inches and 170 pounds, could be a nice long-term project for Kent Hughes, as the young prospect has chosen the NCAA, precisely to give himself time to physically develop.
Even though the CH has several small forwards, it will be interesting to follow this case closely over the next few weeks and it could turn out to be one of the nice surprises of the upcoming draft.
