Overnight, the National Hockey League released the details and official video surrounding yesterday's 2023 lottery.
We learn that the Montreal Canadiens were far from winning the "Adam Fantilli lottery", they only had one exact ball.
But we also learn that they were only one ball away from winning the Connor Bedard lottery (they had three exact balls!)
Ouch!
The winning combination and the Chicago Blackhawks? Here it is:
4-5-9-13
While the Montreal Canadiens had the following combination:
4-5-9-11
So it came down to the fourth ball of the frame, and the Montreal Canadiens were in the race until the very end. Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton had hope until the end, but in the end, the #13 ball came out, not the #11.
The 13 was the lucky number for the Blackhawks!
