The Sharks have reportedly made a major move towards Will Smith and this changes everything for the Montreal Canadiens
In the past few hours, a big rumor has surfaced suggesting that the San Jose Sharks are officially targeting Will Smith to draft with their 4th overall pick in about two weeks.
There's news on this front, and it's exactly in that direction.
The Sharks have apparently made a very clear move towards the young player, and it seems to confirm their very high interest.
A private guided tour for Smith
"The rumor has it that Smith has been given a guided tour of the city of San Jose. He seems to be the player targeted by the Sharks."
In such a scenario, the Chicago Blackhawks would have drafted Connor Bedard, the Anaheim Ducks would have set their sights on Adam Fantilli, and the Columbus Blue Jackets would have claimed Leo Carlsson.

This would obviously be the worst scenario for the Montreal Canadiens, unless they decide to draft the phenomenon Matvei Michkov.
Coming back to Smith, he would be the only prospect to have been given a guided tour of the city. That speaks volumes, and unfortunately, we can probably start to cross off the idea of seeing him being drafted by the Canadiens (if we keep the #5 pick).
The chances are very high that he will end up in San Jose.
