In an intriguing and generous interview granted to journalist Marc de Foy of the Journal de Montreal, Francis Bouillon dared to delve into some hot topics.
We love it.
Bouillon, who serves as a player development coach within the Montreal Canadiens organization, notably agreed to reveal the identity of the two players who, in his opinion, are the closest to playing games with the Canadiens (CH).
There is even a pleasant surprise.
For obvious reasons, we should expect that at least two rookies will play games in Montreal next season, and we now know who is closest to this goal.
Two Names Targeted by Bouillon
According to Francis Bouillon, who is likely the best positioned to comment on the matter, forward Owen Beck and defenseman Logan Mailloux are the two young players closest to making the leap.
Wow!
"In my opinion, Owen is already practicing the style of the National League. He is a good skater, intelligent and executes the small details well. For me, he is the player who will have the least difficulty adapting to the professional ranks when the time comes.
Logan Mailloux, he's an athlete. He has an athletic build. He could have made a career in other sports. He has a flair for offensive play. But he will need to improve his defensive game and adapt to the professionals' play."
- Francis Bouillon
Do you agree with him? Do you believe that Mailloux and Beck are the two CH prospects who are closest to playing in the NHL?
Do you think it will happen as early as next season?
