Major: Kent Hughes just called two well-known forwards for a meeting
A few weeks before the 2024 NHL Draft, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton just called two well-known forwards for a big meeting.
No, not all prospects get the chance to meet Hughes and Gorton, far from it, but the two men absolutely wanted to be present to meet two particular prospects.
Maxim Massé and Sacha Boisvert were called for a meeting with Kent Hughes, Jeff Gorton, and other Montreal Canadiens executives
So there is a clear interest here!
According to the excellent journalist Kevin Dubé, who is currently in Buffalo for the "2024 Combine," the Canadiens' management has indeed met two young forwards well known to LHJMQ fans and Quebec hockey fans.
We imagine these are targets for Montreal's 26th overall pick, the one acquired from the Winnipeg Jets in the Sean Monahan trade.
Could Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton draft the first Quebecer since Louis Leblanc in the first round of the 2024 draft? It's certainly a possibility anyway!
«This year, we will be talking about Maxim Massé and Sacha Boisvert, if the CH keeps the 26th overall pick, since they are the two Quebec players most likely to be available at the rank where the Tricolore chooses and it is also around this rank that they should be picked, according to many.

Here are Massé's comments:
«I had one done and the stress had gone down a bit and when I saw that the next one was with the Canadiens, the stress went up a bit! It's the team of my childhood, the team of Quebec and it has a special place for me. I was a bit more stressed, but it was a nice interview.»
Unsurprisingly, Maxim Massé and Sacha Boisvert would love to be drafted by the Montreal Canadiens, especially in the first round live from Las Vegas.
The efforts are obviously very serious.
Sacha Boisvert, 18 years old, 6 feet 2 inches and 178 pounds, is a forward from Trois-Rivières who scored 68 points in 61 games this season in the USHL.
Maxim Massé, 18 years old, 6 feet 2 inches and 192 pounds, is a forward from Rimouski who scored 75 points in 67 games this season in the LHJMQ.
Two names to remember for Montreal Canadiens fans.
