A few weeks before the NHL selection session, Canadiens fans are still uncertain about which prospect will be chosen by the organization.
As we know, Kent Hughes and his team will be speaking at the fifth spot. Let's say it's rather difficult to predict who will already be selected by that time, except for Macklin Celebrini, who should be 99.9% the first overall pick by the San Jose Sharks.
That said, predictions are open about which prospect will be chosen by the Canadiens, and already hockey fans have expressed their opinions on this subject, and it seems that two players stand out: Cayden Lindstrom and Tij Iginla.
Moreover, according to Jean-Charles Lajoie, it is Iginla that Kent Hughes should select.
In a column published on the TVA Sports.ca website, the host stated that he prefers Jarome's son over Lindstrom because he believes that Cayden would not really fit the needs of the Canadiens, and that Iginla would be the best fit for the organization.
Lajoie's comments make sense, but for the Canadiens' choice, if both players are still available, Kent Hughes and his team of recruiters will have a tough decision to make because we know that Iginla is highly regarded by the organization.
He scored 84 points, including 47 goals in 64 games with the Kelowna Rockets in 2023-2024, while Cayden Lindstrom had more limited production due to injuries with 46 points in 32 games with the Medicine Hat Tigers.
