It's not getting a lot of attention in the media right now, but there's a big story going on.

It involves possible links between chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and hockey.

This has always been denied by Gary Bettman and the NHL, according to experts.

Background

In 2015, Steve Montador, a former NHL player, died at just 35 years old after developing a traumatic brain injury, apparently related to his professional hockey career.

Montador's family has decided to sue the NHL for Steve's death.

Yesterday, Gary Bettman was on the stand for the hearing and he made a statement that caused a doctor to react very strongly.

Dr. Chris Nowinski, a leading expert in the field, noted a major contradiction in Gary Bettman's testimony.

It's embarrassing.

As Dr. Nowinski says, if the NHLPA told the truth in 2013, does that mean the NHL lied for a decade?

And if Steve Montador was warned of the risks, how is that possible, if the NHL considers there to be no risks?

To be continued, but Gary Bettman really doesn't look good here.
