We have just learned that NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman broke an NHL rule following a request from the Florida Panthers.

He granted a rare exception to the Florida club.

According to the media outlet "PuckEmpire," for a very rare occasion in history, Gary Bettman granted an exception for two Panthers players.

«The NHL made two exceptions for Panthers players to have their names engraved on the Stanley Cup, despite not meeting the games played requirements and not adhering to the conditions:

Jonah Gadjovich
Josh Mahura.»

Thus, Gadjovich and Mahura will have their names on the precious trophy following a special request from the Panthers organization.

The NHL agrees to add the names of two Florida Panthers players to the Stanley Cup who did not meet the requirements

Josh Mahura, 26, accumulated 9 points in 30 games this season, and he did not play a single game in the 2024 playoffs.

Jonah Gadjovich, 25, accumulated 4 points in 39 games this season (104 penalty minutes) and did not play a single game in the playoffs. He has never played an NHL playoff game in his entire career.

Do you believe that Gary Bettman and the NHL were right to bend the rules for these two players? Do you think they would have done the same for two Edmonton Oilers players?
