A transaction concluded between the Montreal Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers is now finalized.
A few weeks after his arrival as GM of the Habs, Kent Hughes completed some solid trades, including sending Brett Kulak to the Edmonton Oilers.
As reported by my colleagues at Marqueur, this transaction has just been finalized, now that Montreal has drafted with the Oilers' 2024 7th round pick.
In 2022, it's worth noting that Kent Hughes traded Brett Kulak to Edmonton in exchange for William Lagesson, a 2022 second-round pick, and a 2024 seventh-round pick.
Kent Hughes ultimately transformed Brett Kulak into William Lagesson, Lane Hutson, and Rasmus Bergqvist
The 2022 second-round pick indeed turned into Lane Hutson, and the 2024 seventh-round pick has now become Rasmus Bergqvist.
Bergqvist, 19, is a 6-foot-2, 181-pound Swedish defenseman who tallied 12 points in 36 games last season in the junior ranks in Sweden. (30 penalty minutes)
Thus, this young defenseman completes the Brett Kulak transaction.
