Even though he doesn't seem to believe it all that much, Bettman mentioned that his new major partner, Amazon Prime, clearly believes strongly in the importance of hockey here.

Yes, Prime Video truly seems to believe in its new project of broadcasting National Hockey League games, and yes, we might witness big changes in the coming years.
It's no coincidence that they targeted Canadian markets.
Clearly, we'll need to get used to seeing Amazon Prime playing an increasingly significant role in the world of hockey in Canada, as they will start streaming live games as soon as next month.
As reported by David Pagnotta, the first game to be broadcast by Amazon Prime will be on October 14, and it will be a matchup at the Bell Centre between the Montreal Canadiens and the Pittsburgh Penguins. It's going to be exciting!
