The cause of death of the 24-year-old goaltender has just been revealed
For the past few hours, the hockey world has been in mourning after the tragic death of 24-year-old goaltender Creed Jones.
As we reported last night, the Gatineau Olympiques have indeed announced that former QMJHL goaltender Creed Jones has passed away.
He was only 24 years old... It's an infinite sadness.
In the last few minutes, to provide more details on the circumstances surrounding this tragedy, journalist Olivier Therriault published an article.
A Motorcycle Accident for Creed Jones
Here are two excerpts from his article, but we highly recommend reading the full article (link at the bottom).
«Former Oceanic goaltender, Creed Jones, tragically died at the age of 24 following a motorcycle accident on Friday night on Highway 417 in the Ottawa region. His host families in Rimouski are in shock.»
«According to the CBC, Jones was traveling westbound shortly before midnight. He reportedly collided with another motorcyclist, aged 27, in a ramp. He also died in the tragedy.»
- Olivier Therriault
The journalist also portrays Jones as a funny and extremely endearing young man after speaking with people who knew him very well.
«After welcoming him into her family during his first stay in Rimouski, Paméla Couturier remembers a young man with a big heart, friendly, funny, and endearing, despite a mysterious bad boy shell'.»
We would like to once again extend our most sincere condolences to Creed's family and friends.
It must be extremely difficult for them right now.
Creed Jones was a solid goaltender in the QMJHL from 2017 to 2021, playing for Gatineau, Rimouski, and Saint John.
