While everyone talks about a possible major transaction to acquire a top-6 forward for the Canadiens, Ryan Szporer brings up a good point.
What if Kent Hughes improved his team and situation simply by removing a player from the equation?
The THW journalist believes that Hughes would benefit greatly from trading a player like Christian Dvorak to give more playing time to the young forwards of the CH.
If Alex Newhook is ever used as a winger, it could unfortunately push Joshua Roy out of the lineup, and we don't want that.
Therefore, to maximize the chances of success for Joshua Roy (and even for Owen Beck, Emil Heineman, and company), trading Dvorak appears to be a priority for Kent Hughes, according to Szporer.
It would free up a valuable spot in the top-9 and could allow Martin St-Louis to keep Alex Newhook at center (and insert Joshua Roy).
If Kent Hughes could ever include Dvorak in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets, as some sources suggest, it would be really great... But in any case, he would unfortunately have to leave before the start of the season.
Do you agree with Ryan Szporer?
Christian Dvorak, 28 years old, was a second-round pick by the Arizona Coyotes in 2014 and has scored 9 points in 30 games this season, but 28 points in 64 games last season (33 points in 56 games before that).
He has accumulated 216 points in 452 career NHL games and earns $4.45 million per year until 2025.
